Mindsurf is a science-based and technology-empowered platform that aims to promote comprehensive mental and emotional health care in an accessible and effective way.

I'm having trouble viewing content within the app, what can I do?

Check that your internet connection is stable and that your operating system is up to date. To work properly, Mindsurf requires a minimum of iOS 11 on Apple devices and 10 on Android devices.

Who can see my information?

No one! Your registration data, as well as the information you share in your interaction with Mindsurf, are confidential. All the messages you send are encrypted, meaning that no one other than you can see your information because everything is programmed to work automatically and anonymously.

What are the benefits of a subscription?

By paying for a premium subscription, you have unlimited access to all Mindsurf content: exercises, therapeutic programs for our different topics such as anxiety and depression, as well as meditations and exclusive conferences with our experts.

I can't pay for my subscription, what do I do?

If the system refuses your credit or debit card to pay for your subscription, check with your bank that you can make purchases online. If the problem persists, send us an email at hello@mindsurf.ai.

I paid for a monthly or annual subscription, but the app says I have the active free plan. What do I do?

If someone shares their subscription code with me to use the app, can I still schedule therapy?

No, the subscription code only allows you to use the app's benefits.

I want to cancel my paid subscription, how can I do that?

How do I know that Mindsurf is effective?

Our programs and exercises are scientifically based on cognitive behavioral therapy and are created by an interdisciplinary team of experts, including psychologists, programmers and content strategists. The team's goal is to design accessible and effective material to increase people's well-being.

What is cognitive behavioral therapy and what are its benefits?

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a psychological approach focused on modifying people's thoughts so that they can change their actions and react functionally to different circumstances.

Its benefits include:
- Control the symptoms of the condition for which you are seeking therapy.
- Prevent relapses.
- Learn techniques for dealing with stressful situations.
- Identify ways to control emotions.

Can an application replace the therapeutic process with a psychologist?

No, the work that mental health professionals do will never be replaceable. However, our application is a tool that alone can help you to know yourself better and increase your well-being if you use it constantly. In addition, it is also an excellent complement if you are already in a therapeutic process or are about to start one.

How can I delete my data from the app?

Send us an email with the subject “Data Deletion Request” at hello@mindsurf.ai with your registration details in the application. We will let you know once the information has been removed from the system.

What type of support do you offer?

The mental health experts on our platform have different backgrounds and specializations, so we offer a variety of psychological approaches such as cognitive-behavioral, familial-systemic, gestalt, psychoanalytic, and others. We invite you to explore each one's profile to find the one that best suits your needs.

How can I schedule a session?

From the application, go to the “Specialists” to choose the one that best suits your needs.

How can I cancel and request a refund for a scheduled session?

To cancel a session, send an email to hello@mindsurf.ai with the subject “CANCELLATION+SPECIALIST NAME” that explains the reasons for the cancellation and specifies the day and time of the session. To be entitled to a refund you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, the session will be charged and the reserved space will be lost.

How can I reschedule a session?

Send an email to hello@mindsurf.ai with the subject “RESCHEDEL+SPECIALIST NAME” that explains the reasons for your request and specifies the day and time of the session you want to reschedule. For your payment to be transferable to your new session, you must request the change at least 48 hours in advance to notify the therapist in good time and share your available schedules with us.

What happens if I get late for my session?

Specialist have a tolerance time of 15 minutes. Out of respect for other patients, this time will not be replenished at the end of the session. If you don't connect after the 15-minute grace period, the consultation will be charged and will be considered lost.

Can I schedule more than one session at the same time?

That's right! You can schedule the day and time of your appointments in packages of 4 or 8 sessions. The payment for each one will be made automatically week by week, as you take them.

Is it safe to make online payments?

Of course! Our site uses a payment platform online called Stripe with which you don't need to create an account, so in our process there are no redirects to other websites.

How can I request an invoice?

I am a specialist and I want to join the Mindsurf platform. How do I do it?

Send an email with the subject “CV for a network of therapists” and your CV attached to hello@mindsurf.ai. Our recruiter will contact you within 10 business days to follow up on your profile.

I am a company

How can I hire Mindsurf services for my company?

We have business packages at special costs. Send us an email to hello@mindsurf.com.ai with your questions, the type of company and the number of collaborators they have to give you a personalized answer.

I am a collaborator

I have a business subscription, but it's not working, how do I fix it?

Ask HR to contact us to review potential failures with your company's subscriptions.

How do I know if I have access to sessions?

Business subscriptions are entitled to 8 free sessions. After this number, you pay for the sessions at your expense. If you have questions, contact HR.

MindSurf is your digital companion for emotional wellness. Whether you're feeling on top of the world or stuck in a rough patch, it’s a private space to reflect, reset, and grow. Use it to write about your feelings, learn mindfulness, set goals, or chat with our supportive AI guide—anytime, anywhere.

How do I use it?

Just log in using your school email. You can use the app on your phone or any computer browser. It’s your always-on wellness partner.

What can MindSurf help with?

  • Guidance: Get personalized, non-judgmental support from our AI.
  • Crisis Support: If you’re in danger or feeling unsafe, Mindsurf will make sure you’re not alone.

Will anyone see what I write?

No one sees your journal and no one sees your conversations unless the system detects words or phrases that suggest you're in danger (like self-harm or harm to others). In that case, your school’s safety team is notified to help keep you safe—and you’ll know exactly when that happens.

Is it okay to talk about how I really feel?

Yes. This space was made for you to be honest. You won’t be judged. Mindsurf is here for every emotion—happy, angry, confused, or scared.

What if I feel really low or like I might hurt myself?

Mindsurf will guide you to support right away. It will share emergency resources like the 988 Crisis Lifeline and notify your school if it detects you're at risk, so someone can help fast. You're never alone.

Can I stop using it whenever I want?

Yes. You can log out, delete the app, or ask a counselor for help with opting out. You’re in control of your wellness journey.

Can I still use MindSurf even if I’ve had a Tier 3 alert before?

Yes! You’re always welcome here. Mindsurf is about helping you ride life’s waves—not punishing you for needing help. If your school has worked with you on a safety plan, you can continue using the platform to support your recovery and track your emotional growth.

For parents

What is Mindsurf?

Mindsurf is a student wellness platform built to help adolescents manage their mental health through reflection, AI-guided support, emotional tracking, and a diverse number of exercises built based on validated research.

Why should my child use it?

It gives students a healthy outlet to process emotions, develop resilience, and get support before issues escalate. It’s proactive emotional and mental care.

What safeguards are in place?

Will I know if my child is in danger?

If Mindsurf detects a safety risk (self-harm, abuse, or harm to others), your child’s school is notified and they follow up per their safety protocols. You’ll likely be contacted by a counselor or principal as part of that intervention process.

What if I want to withdraw consent?

You can contact your school to revoke consent at any time and request deletion of your child’s data.

Can I monitor their activity?

No. Mindsurf protects your child’s privacy to encourage honest expression. We recommend open conversations at home about what they’re learning from the app.

Can I get a copy of the alert if my child is flagged?

Mindsurf sends alerts only to your school’s crisis contact team. They determine how and when to share this with parents based on the situation and your school’s protocol. You can always contact your school counselor for more information.

For teachers

How does Mindsurf impact my role?

Mindsurf supports your efforts by offering students a tool to express themselves privately. This reduces classroom disruptions, supports MTSS interventions, and flags serious emotional concerns before they escalate.

Will I be notified of alerts?

Only designated crisis contacts receive direct alerts, but counselors may loop in teachers when necessary for follow-up or classroom support.

Can I refer a student to Mindsurf?

Absolutely. If you notice a student struggling emotionally, encourage them to log in and explore its features. You can also notify your campus mental health lead if you're concerned.

How does it support learning?

Will it increase my workload?

You may be asked to help create a reentry plan or accommodate the student’s needs in class. This could mean adjusting workloads, providing quiet spaces, or simply checking in. Your empathy makes a difference.

For counselors

How does Mindsurf support counseling services?

Mindsurf acts as a digital extension of your team. It provides daily insight into students’ emotional states, automatically red flags, and allows you to prioritize outreach efficiently.

What kind of alerts will I get?

You’ll be notified of Tier 3 (red) alerts including suicidal ideation, threats, abuse, and severe emotional distress. Alerts include timestamps, student ID or alias, and a summary of concern.

How fast must I respond?

Mindsurf’s protocol follows a strict 120-minute acknowledgment window, with escalating contact chains protocols.

What if it’s after hours or a weekend?

Districts define their escalation protocol, check with your school for the one that applies to your district.

What if I disagree with an AI-triggered alert?

You are the human filter. If you believe the alert is a false positive or requires further context, you can document your assessment and proceed according to your threat assessment team's decision. Mindsurf does not override district judgment.

For administrator

What’s the administrative value of Mindsurf?

Mindsurf complements your Safe and Supportive Schools framework by:

Can we pause alerts on holidays or weekends?

Yes, but Mindsurf recommends keeping at least one contact on-call or authorizing emergency escalation during long breaks.

What reporting tools do we get?

We recommend initiating a “Return to Learn” plan for Tier 3 cases, and we support pattern tracking and documentation for district-aligned reentry plans.

Can we customize how and when alerts are delivered?
